Stages are the individual steps within a funnel. They let you track exactly where each lead is in your pipeline and what action to take next.
A stage represents a specific point in your lead’s journey. As you interact with a contact, you move them from one stage to the next. This gives you a clear visual of your pipeline and helps you prioritize follow-ups.
- Open the funnel you want to edit (or create a new one — see Creating & Managing Funnels).
- In the funnel editor, click Add Stage (or the + button).
- Enter a Stage Name — Use a clear, action-oriented name (e.g., “Reached Out”, “Follow Up”, “Interested”).
- Repeat to add as many stages as you need.
- Drag and drop stages to reorder them if needed.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
As you work your leads, you’ll move them through stages:
- Open the funnel view to see all contacts organized by stage.
- Drag and drop a contact card from one stage to the next.
- Or open the contact’s profile, click the Stage dropdown, and select the new stage.
- The contact’s position updates immediately.
- Open the funnel containing the stage.
- Click the Edit icon next to the stage name.
- Update the name.
- Click Save.
- Open the funnel containing the stage.
- Click the Delete or Trash icon next to the stage.
- If the stage has contacts in it, you’ll be prompted to move them to another stage or remove them from the funnel.
- Confirm the deletion.

- Keep stages simple — 4 to 6 stages per funnel is usually enough.
- Use consistent naming across funnels so your workflow stays intuitive.
- If a contact goes cold, consider adding a “Follow Up Later” or “Not Interested” stage instead of deleting them.
