The Birthday Strategy is a highly effective way to rekindle old relationships and build “know, like, and trust” by sending automated, personalized messages to your Facebook friends on their special day.
- Find the Extension: Click the LeadMagicX icon in your browser’s taskbar.
- Tip: If it’s not visible, click the jigsaw piece icon (Extensions menu), find LeadMagicX, and click the pin icon so it stays visible.
- Open Strategies: Once the extension is open, click on Strategies in the top navigation bar, then select Birthday from the left-hand menu.
The system requires a funnel to “house” the strategy, even though it won’t move leads through traditional stages.
- Click on Funnels in the top menu.
- Click New Funnel and name it “Birthdays.”
- Once created, click on the funnel and select Add New Stage.
- Name the stage “Today” and hit create.
To avoid being flagged as spam by Facebook, you must create 3 to 4 different message variations. The system will rotate through these automatically.
- Click Templates in the top bar and select New Template.
- Name your template (e.g., “Birthday 1”).
- Write your message: Use the
@ symbol to automatically insert the person’s name.
- The “Reply” Trick: Always end with a question (e.g., “What are your plans to celebrate?”) to encourage a response and start a conversation.
- (Optional) Click Add Image to attach a personal photo, like you holding a celebratory glass, to make it feel even more genuine.
Now, link everything together in the Birthday Strategy tab:
- Select Funnel: Choose the “Birthdays” funnel you just created.
- Select Stage: Choose the “Today” stage.
- Select Templates: Click the dropdown and check the boxes for all 3–4 birthday templates you wrote.
- Set Delivery Time: Choose when the messages should start sending (e.g., 7:30 AM).
¶ Step 5: Save and Run
Click Save Changes and ensure the toggle for the strategy is Switched On.
- Active Computer: Your computer must be ON and your browser open at the scheduled time for the messages to send.
- Time Zones: Messages go out based on your local time. If your audience is in a different time zone, adjust your start time so you aren’t messaging them in the middle of the night.
- Zero Manual Entry: You do not need to import your friends into LeadMagicX. Each day, the extension will automatically scan your Facebook birthday page and send messages to those celebrating.
- Test and Tweak: Monitor your replies! If one template gets more engagement than others, keep it. If one is falling flat, swap it out for a new variation.
